Accreditation:

Rochelle Community Hospital is proud of its dedication to continuous quality improvement. As part of that process, RCH contracts with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) to evaluate the quality and safety of care by assessing the compliance of the organization with their national safety standards. Surveys are conducted randomly within the third year of the accreditation cycle. Some key components of the survey process include...

  • Patient Safety
  • Medication Management
  • Assessment and Care/Services

During the survey, trained surveyors evaluate patient care by using the "tracer methodology". All aspects of patient care are looked at by tracing patients through the care, treatment and services they received. The survey process also analyzes key operational systems that directly impact the quality and safety of patient care. The goal of the survey process is to evaluate the hospital's performance with maintaining continuous compliance with all of the standards.

“As a hospital, we are dedicated to maintaining an atmosphere of continuous quality improvement.  We feel that participation in the JCAHO survey process has been beneficial in helping us to achieve that goal.”
